Hello, and welcome to the Spina Bifida Community of Memphis! This site is specifically geared towards parents and caregivers of children who have spina bifida. Please be aware that this community is not a chapter of the Spina Bifida Association of America (SBA or SBAA). (The closest SBA chapters are located in Nashville, TN; Little Rock, AR; and Richland, MS.) The SBA has an extensive list of requirements for affiliation (such as a minimum operating budget of $ 50,000/yr) that are not feasible for a brand-new group to attain. However, once this group is reasonably established, its members will have the opportunity to decide whether to officially link up with the SBA or continue operating independently.
